Thalia Interview
Reporter : I have to tell you that Greek audience loves you from the soapoperas ³Marimar² , Maria la del Barrio and Rosalinda . How do you feel that you are so famous in Greece? Thalia: First of all I love you ! Itıs so amazing that in Greece you let me go into your houses with my work. This is a very nice present that you open o small part of your heart to me .I have no words to thank you. I remember when I had visited Greece for vacations and something inside me was telling me : ³ You are from here , you are from Greece . Somehow in another life I was from Greece" . Amazing ! And now that you telling me that ! Reporter: We love you so much .Are you planning to visit Greece? Thalia: (with enthusiasm) Definitely! . First of all I love your country , because itıs so beautiful and the food is amazing.pita , suvlaki the sunset In Santorini and of course Athens Reporter: Letıs talk about the beginning of your career. Is it true that you started when you were 4 years old. Thalia: When I was 4 years old I appeared for a minute in a movie where my sister , who is actress as well ,played. Basically I started in a group named ³Tin Tin² .We were 4 children 9 y.o of age. Two girls and two boys and we began to work in very intense pace Little by little ,well ,I began to built my career. Reporter: What led you to become an artist? What is the thing that you enjoy the most in your job? Thalia: What I am enjoying is to convey my message to all the people , to put my heart to every song , in every role. I want people to relieve themselves from anxiety.I want my job to act like a painkiller that brings relief , a kind of medecine that prevents the soul from suffering. So I work just to relieve people. (As she talks to the reporter emphasises with gestures , with her face expressions as well , everything she says , while the smile is constantly on her face . ) Reporter : Where that positive energy comes from? You smile constantly and you are a very happy person Thalia: I am so happy person because , first of all , I believe in God no question about that. I am in His hands and nothing can happen to me . I think we are the ones who create our own problems build walls in front of us. We can pull down these walls , so that the way is open to create a positive , nice , and a bright future . I donıt know why but thatıs the way I feel. Reporter: Latin music is very popular this year. Is there any latin singer with whom you would like definitely to work with? Thalia: I admire Ricky Martin , he s a very good friend. He began his career in a small group just like me , he played in soapoperas , just like me.Our careers have many similarities and I would like to do something together. But now , I am devoted in my work and I donıt think at the moment to do so. Reporter: ³Amor a la Mexicana ³ is a huge success in Greece.. What is so special about Mexican life style? Thalia: Well Life in Mexico isnıt just like with sobreros and donkeys. Like other countries, our country also is developed . We are a very happy nation . We enjoy life and from the day of our birth everything has to do with music. It s a very beautiful country and I invite you all to come to Mexico and have fun . Itıs very nice place and the food amazing. Reporter: Now your new album is released entitled ³Arrasando² Thalia: I love it It has the taste of latin music scene with disco , dance and europop mixes . I think itıs a job that feels you with energy and rhythm . The lyrics are very romantic , for romance , true love , soul of all things . I have fall in love with this album and I think that you will love it too. Reporter:Have you planned a tour ? Thalia: Definitely , because I like that : I have my audience , people that have supported me , who have given me a place in the music industry. To have my audience , to feel them sing , dance or to cry in romantic songs is a wonderful feeling I am counting the days like mad to begin the tour. Reporter:Who is the person that is closer to you now ? Thalia: This person is always my mother . It was something unexpected to come to the world. I was a small ³mistake² or a small surprise I have 11 years difference from my other sisters we are 5 girls.My mother devoted herself to me and we have a very nice relation. Reporter: what is the best advice that your mother has given to you? Thalia:First of all to be yourself and never let anybody change you and secondly , to be strong , because this world is made for men , so you have to go against that .Thirdly , you have a dream and you must follow it. Nothing is impossible in life.She always said to me ³ We are born to die . What is impossible ? Nothing. Reporter : How would you describe yourself ? Thalia: I need to be loved and I am a very positive person .I always look for the good parts in a bad situation . My soul has something from manıs being .I am too strong. Reporter : Since you have mentioned men is there someone in your life now , isnıt it? Thalia: Yes I am so happy and I feel , you know as if I am discovering a part of me that was missing as if I am living my own soapopera ! I shooted so many soapoperas and I was attached with the characters that I personified , but nothing is compared to now . I have everything : romance , my family , my career , my fans, that allowed me to be someone. What else should I expect? Reporter : Do you intend to marry soon? Thalia:I believe in marriage . I donıt know when , I donıt know how life is so unpredictable and noone knows what God holds for us. I believe in marriage and if itıs going to be now then it will be who knows ? The most important is to enjoy every moment of your life. Reporter: What is the greatest ambition of yours ? Thalia:Never to stop to create . To give new things to my audience , beautifull things with my name on it as an artist. Reporter : Whatıs in your opinion the biggest achievement of yours till now ? Thalia: ( looks at the people of EMI latin to explain her the word in spanish ) What that means ? (they reply to her and she smiles and answers right away ) I think to be happy in your life . Life is so difficult and complex , specially love and human affairs. For that letıs try to be happy , to live the momments and make these last longer Reporter:If you could live a moment of your life once again which one would be? Thalia:This a very good question . I would choose to live again these few moments I remember ,with my father. He died when I was 5 y.o and so I donıt remember a lot . I would love to have enjoyed these moments a little more. Just that Reporter: If you had to choose between career and family what would be your choice? Thalia: I would choose both. (she laughs) My priority is to live , to be happy with my loved one , my familly , my friends.Certainly I started my career at 9 y.o and worked without stop. So I couldnıt think even for a moment to give up my career . I combine things.I am not workaholic. I was terribly workaholic and I got sick , because I worked on and on. I did one soapopera after another , in tme meantime I was recording my albums up to the point where I felt so tired and said : Thatıs enough no more . ³Have your vacations and have fun² . Reporter: Letıs say that you went back to acting and you could choose your costar in a movie who would be ? Thalia: I always wanted to work with Mel Gibson . He is funny , macho , sexy and handsome as well . I love the combination of black hair with blue eyes . My God! I think he would be my choice. |
