Mia Sara Info! Mia Sara is best known for being Ferris Bueller's girlfriend, Sloane Peterson. She was also the female lead in Legend the same year, which was a good fantasy film but didn't quite get the same attention for obvious reasons. (It seems like about three out of four people under 30 think that "Ferris Bueller" is a classic and one of the best comedies of all time, and I agree with them.) Poor Mia... since then, I think "Ferris" has been shown more times on TV than all of the other movies she's made, COMBINED, and probably several times over. She'll forever be known as Sloane, unless something drastic happens. I sometimes wonder which happened first: Did she actually CHOOSE roles that would ensure her fate as being known as this one character, or was her role in Ferris Bueller so well-known that IT ensured that she would be type-cast and known primarily as that character? Or has the popularity of Ferris Bueller and its enduring cult status become so huge that she simply had no chance to get away from its shadow in the first place? I have no idea, I'm just laying out the possibilities. :) Anyway, in a way Mia has actually enhanced and solidified her cult status, since she has been in quite a few B-movies, several of whose popularity seems to revolve around the showing of Mia au naturel. Since she had already achieved cult status with Ferris Bueller, it stands to reason that quite a lot of people would like to see her (or rather, Sloane Peterson?) in that kind of role, if only for the novelty/intrigue of it. |
