Daisy Fuentes Interview
From clay: What are you wearing right now? Cut-off sweatpants and a T-shirt. Sorry... From silvergirl: Does Pantene really work for your hair? It works for my hair, although it's a bit heavy for people with thin, fine hair. I like to switch every now and then. From cgonz: What's your favorite fruit? Mango. From jilicat: What career path would you want to pursue if you weren't modeling or veejaying? What was your childhood dream? I think that dream changed every week. I'd like to say if I weren't doing what I'm doing, I'd be a brain surgeon or a rocket scientist. From gynecomasty: Have you ever been asked to pose for Playboy? Would you? Yes--and my answer was, "No thanks." From thatgirl1: Which model do you admire most and why? Admire is a very strong word. I don't really know any model well enough to say. But from the ones I have had the chance to hang out with, my favorites are Tyra Banks, Karen Mulder and Cindy Crawford. From snatch69: Where did you get your start in TV? I started as a weather anchor on a local Spanish newscast in New York. I didn't have a clue about what I was doing. I was pretty bad. From cely: Do you find that being a Latina helps or hinders finding work in your field? I truly believe that if it weren't for my Spanish heritage, I might not be doing what I'm doing. Spanish TV gave me a chance before anyone else did. From moviez: Do you consider yourself a role model for Latinos and Latinas? How does your Latino heritage affect your career now? I guess it affects my career as much as I want it to. I could not mention it, but it's a huge part of who I am. It's something to be proud of. Being a role model is a great responsibility--one I never asked for. However, it feels good to talk about things that are important to me and, even better, to have the support of some very nice people. From markfd: I heard a rumor that you want to have your own talk show. Is this true? If so, what type of show? It's true. I figure everyone else has one, so I want one, too. I'd hope it would be a fun, easy-to-watch and entertaining show--a little of everything. From armanidue: Do you think that having style is a sort of an innate gift, or can money buy it? I think it takes a lot of money to look really cheap. So, it's not money. I think maybe you need a good sense of self and a little pizzazz. From jeanluc_pic: With all the changes, do you find it difficult to keep up with what is "in style"? No, I find that fun. I like changing my hair, makeup and style. It's one of the privileges of being a woman. But one thing I would never change is my essence. It doesn't really matter what you look like, as long as you stay honest inside. From tema: Who was your favorite person to interview--and why? Luis Miguel. The interview started six years ago, and I'm still getting to know him. From lkbwitched: Does Luis ever sing to you? If so, what kind of music? Yes. Mostly old, romantic stuff like Sinatra. From scottswan: What kind of music do you listen to? A little bit of everything--Eryka Baddu, Bee Gees, INXS, Sade--and, of course, Sinatra. From crisvn: If you had an interview with God, what would you ask him? Great question. Why am I here? How can I be a better person? What's the most important lesson I'm supposed to learn? And what upsets you the most about what we humans are doing here on earth? Also, have I lived in other lives? From figgis: If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be? Mysterious, caring--and indescribable. I think every woman is much too complex to be described in three words. Some people spend a lifetime trying to get to know a woman and never quite get it. From surga: Describe your ideal guy. In all people, I look for a sense of self, a good heart, honesty, positivity and an incredible sense of humor. From dgiovanni: If you could be anywhere in the world, doing whatever you wanted to do, what would you be doing and where would you be doing it? I would be exactly where I am now: at my boyfriend's house in Acapulco, watching the sun set behind the ocean with a nice glass of wine and my fabulous man. From playdoh: Do you have to stick to a strict diet to stay in shape, or are you a big eater and just lucky? I love junk food, and I love going to restaurants with friends. I have to watch myself, but for the most part, I am lucky. I do, however, exercise as much as possible. From snippy10: Are you planning on making any movies soon? It's not really what I'm going after--I love TV. But I wouldn't mind doing a suspense comedy. I'd entertain any reasonable offer. |
