Alexis Bledel Interview
1. What will happen to Rory on Gilmore Girls this season? She's been in denial for awhile about liking Jess, and she's going to have to figure things out. She has a lot of pieces to pick up --- it's a potential mess. But I don't know what will happen; I wish I did! 2. What makes you happier than anything else in the world? Chicken nuggets from Wendy's --- they're delicious. Just to clarify, this is actually a lie, because if I were to really expose what makes me happier than anything, I would get very philosophical. But I am serious when I say that a five-piece order of chicken nuggets is a phenomenal way to life your spirits for a measly 99 cents. 3. Tell us about your worst job. A modeling session once where I had to wear a slip dress in winter as cold water was thrown my way and photographed in midair. I was cold and wet. 4. What's your pet peeve? That girls worry about losing weight. When I was 14, my modling agency told me I needed to lose weight. That's so wrong --- I don't think you can tell a 14-year-old girl to do that, because you don't really have control over how you're changing at that age. 5. Was it hard to be a model and go to high school, too? It was. I just stopped traveling my senior year. I did all the traditional things so I wouldn't feel I was missing out. 6. What were you like then? I went to a Catholic high school. I wasn't drastically different from the way I am now. I had a couple of close school friends, and we basically did our own thing. There were a lot of cliques but I wasn't a joiner, so I didn't join. 7. Tell us about your character, Winnie, in Tuck Everlasting. Winnie sets out to free herself from a boring home situation. I liked her because she's very driven. But I can't really relate to her --- I wasn't as outwardly rebellious as she is when I was living at home. 8. What was it like getting into those Victorian costumes? I had to wear a corset, a petticoat, a dress and a top, so it was pretty painful. But once the whole outfit was on, I felt totally transformed. The clothes were really beautiful --- it was worth it. 9. What do you take with you when you travel? I always bring pictures of my friends and family, especially when I'm on location. 10. Tuck was the first time we've seen you with curly hair! Is it naturally curly? It's wavy. It took two hours for me to get those curls. Normally I straighten my hair because it's just easier to maintain. 11. Are your own parents more like those in Tuck or Gilmore? My parents are a happy medium between the two. They did a good job of being protective and still supporting me. 12. What are your favorite films? I really like watching stuff I saw as a kid --- like The Sound of Music or Forrest Gump --- because it's very comforting. 13. If you could trade places with anyone, who would it be? Alicia Keys. I like all different kinds of music, but my favorite artists are Alicia Keys, Ben Harper and Jimmy Eat World. 14. What's the song you most wish you had written? "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John. I'm such a sap for his songs. 15. Have you ever read a self-help book for advice? I like the...For Dummies series. I bought an exercise one for yoga. But I don't have the patience for the books; I need a teacher. 16. Your biggest flaw? Impatience. Traffice drives me crazy. 17. What's your motto? Wear comfortable shoes. It's just better to walk through life in comfortable shoes. |
