Had she ever shaken her pom-poms before? "No, I was never a cheerleader. In my high school, cheerleading wasn't really that big a deal, and they didn't do all the athletic stuff--all the throwing around--that we had to learn for Sugar & Spice. We had to go to two weeks of cheerleading camp. It was a lot more work that I thought it would be." How tough was it? "I survived. But I got pretty banged up. I think I still have a few scars. I had to do this cheerleading stunt called an 'elevator,' where there are two girls, and you stand on their hands, and they lift you up and hold you above their heads. I spray-paint the video camera when we rob the bank." And how many takes did that require? "A lot! When we went to shoot it, we had never rehearsed it in wardrobe. We were in masks, so we couldn't see, and we all had pregnant bellies. So, the first time we did it, the girls couldn't do their normal move to lift me up because they had to go around their bellies. I totally fell down and crashed on the floor." And what about Friends? Did she know Bruce Willis was going to play her dad? "We went to the table read for the episode where Ross meets Elizabeth's dad, and they didn't have the dad cast yet. The next day, I was in my dressing room, and David Schwimmer came and knocked on my door. He goes, 'Did you hear who's playing your dad? Bruce Willis!' Everyone was so excited. That's what's so cool about David: He's just a regular person. He's not afraid to get excited about stuff. Bruce was shooting a movie at the same time, so I didn't get to know him that well. But he was really cool." She also starred in Aerosmith's video for "Hole in My Soul." Was she a fan of the band? "Not particularly. I liked them, but I wasn't like, 'I have to get an Aerosmith video!' But we got to go to a concert and go backstage. It was so funny. We were all like, 'Backstage with Aerosmith! Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll!' And we go back there, and Steven Tyler is playing Candyland with his daughter." |
