- Alex Kingston Alex Kingston Info When Alex Kingston debuted as tart, outspoke Dr. Elizabeth Corday on ER's live episode last season, ie was immediately apparent that here was another of the show's female powerhouses. (Wielding scalpels must do something for a girl's self esteem.) It was a dramatic debut, as well, for Kingston, a butcher's daughter. While a student ant London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Kingston fell in love with fellow student Ralph Fiennes, and they married in 1993. But just as Kingston embarked on her fole as the lustly Moll Flanders in the 1996 TV miniseries, Fiennes, 35, left her for acress Francesca Annie, 54, who had been playing his mother in Hamlet. Kingston, shocked, said at the time, "I thought that the marriage would last forever." It was ER, fittingly, that helped her heal. When the producers called, she took the chance: new world, new medium, and, eventually, new love (German journalist Florian Haertel). Kingston is now 35, and her second act couldn't look better. |
