Aditi Gowitrikar, model, former beauty queen, doctor and (phew!) also an actress made her debut in 16 December. Though the film did not do very well, her acting was appreciated. Her next flick Soch sees her play the role of a suspicious wife, a la Othello, co-starring Sanjay Kapoor. This murder mystery, though different, has not made the BO go berserk. She says that Sushen Bhatnagar, the director of Soch, found her ideal for the part. Aditi, though, is game to play any kind of role, which will give her the opportunity to show her histrionic talent. In Dhund (The Gog), she will be playing the role of an aspiring model who has a rival. The problems between them form the rest of this thrriller. It is a significant film for her since it is her first as a heroine. Armed with an MBBS degree she had plans to do her MD, but her boyfriend Mufzal (now husband) encouraged her to take part in the Gladrags competition. By sheer luck,she won. Next came the Asian Super Model Contest, which was held at Singapore. Surprisingly, she won yet again.Then came a couple of film offers. Tamdu, a Telugu film with Pawan Kalyan (Chiranjeevi's brother) and Preeti Jhangiani was one of her first projects and a super hit. It was a great experience for her since it taught her all the essentials of acting.Her co-stars helped her with the dialogues and also gave her tips on personality development. Another unexpected twist came in the form of the Mrs. World contest, which she won too. It seemed natural then that she starts acting in Bollywood flicks. She also felt that after doing so many ad films, contests and ramp shows, films seemed a better alternative. She is also doing item numbers, her latest one with newcomer Sachin for a Telugu film. Dancing for a film song and at a disco are two different worlds since there has to be more effort for the former. Still, she says, it is an enthralling experience. Luckily for her, she got to work with top directors and stars who have been very helpful to her. Unlike other stars who are haughty, inconsiderate and throw tantrums, Aditi has preferred to be humble. However, many filmmakers are still hesitant to accept this beauty who possesses great brains. What’s more, she is a married woman with a child and we all know how Bollywood feels about married women! How does it feel to be a parent? She opines that only a child can give unconditional love, which no one else can. Initailly rumors linking her to top actors bothered her but with time, she has learnt to ignore such rumors. Her family has given her both unlimited love and their support for her career. And she is clear that is only with their help that she will be able to progress in her career and life.
